My Opinion on Technology in the Kitchen

Our daughters got us an Alexa Dot for our anniversary in October.

I was so excited to use it...but the dinosaur in me had trouble getting it started.

Younger E (Emma) is too busy and too teenager-y to bother with us.
Older E (Erica) came home for thanksgiving and was appalled and annoyed that we weren’t using it to it’s potential.

And when I say we, I don’t mean Howard. Technology and he don’t get along that well...but at least he tries…

I, on the other hand, like to think I know a few things for “my age”.

So, it seems I can hook alexa up to quite a few things in the house, who knew? Everyone under 50?

Even though Alexa is now finally hooked up (thanks to Erica), I oftentimes forget to use her. I still run around with dirty turkey butt fingers setting timers with my elbow hoping I hit the right button rather than saying “Alexa set a 50 minute timer for me” or trying to operate my phone to play music when all I have to say is “Alexa, turn on earth wind and fire radio”

When it comes to all the smart things that one can install in the kitchen to make my life easier, I’m all for it - it’s just a habit that I need to form!

And of course, someone to shame me into NOT acting my age.

By the way, did you know Alexa can fart but not burp?

What smart gadgets do you have in your kitchen? Do you like them?
